Itinerary:

Day 1: Saigon

On arrival at the airport, our transfer meets and takes you to your hotel for check in.

Day 2: Saigon City Tour

The half day small group tour includes the following highlights.

The Reunification Palace: This is one of the most important buildings in the city. Here on April 30th 1975 the American War officially ended when the North Vietnamese Army crashed through the gates of what was the residence of the President of the Republic of Vietnam.

War Remnants Museum: Formerly known as the Museum of American War Crimes, this is a poignant display of the futility of war.

Notre Dame Cathedral and Old Post Office: Built between 1877 and 1883 this is one of the best examples of classical French colonial architecture.

Day 3: Saigon - Danang - Can Tho

Leave after breakfast for Cai Be. On arrival, take a boat across the mighty Mekong to visit Cai Be floating market where you will have the opportunity to experience the age old art of bartering for yourself. After lunch, continue to Vinh Long and Can Tho. Overnight in Can Tho. (B,L)

Day 4: Can Tho - Saigon

Morning boat cruise to visit Cai Rang floating market and see hundreds of small boats barging and jostling for position as their owners attempt to sell their goods. Tour finishes with a transfer back to Ho Chi Minh City and drop off at your hotel. (B, L)

Day 5: Saigon Cooking Class

Start the morning with a delightful wander around a local produce market with your host. They will help to give you a very 'real' shopping experience. You will then go to your host's home with bags full of seasonal vegetables, Asian mushrooms, tropical fruits and all the exotic herbs and spices typical to the tropical south of Vietnam.

In their home kitchen, the family will share her cooking secrets with you. Try your hands at cooking typical main dishes, desserts and drinks.

Talking with a local family will bring you closer to the Vietnamese culture and help define the rhythm of Saigon. An unforgettable, truly authentic experience! (B,L)

Day 6: Cu Chi Half Day Tour

Leaving Saigon we drive through pleasant countryside before arriving at Cu Chi. Before entering the tunnels we watch a short introductory video showing how the tunnels were constructed. We then spend the next hour exploring the maze of tunnels. We then driveback to Ho Chi Minh City. (B,D)

Day 7: Hanoi
